Our HT5000-200mA has AC and DC output, each capable of 200mA output. Leakage current limits can be set with the rear panel knob from 10mA to 200mA. Normal operation stops testing when a leakage current greater than the set amount or when a dielectric breakdown is encountered. If desired, testing can be set to continue to burn problem areas. Testing will continue until the design current limit of the tester is exceeded; at which time the output voltage will return to zero.
In any device, lower ripple voltages require larger filter capacitors, which store more power, and that power is normally used to smooth the rectified waveform. In the case of a hipot tester, this stored power has the side effect of discharging into the EUT in the event of a failure. In order to keep the power that must be absorbed by the EUT within reasonable limits, we have used three phase input power for this model, which improves ripple without the side effect of excessive power sent to the EUT when a dielectric breakdown is detected.
Packaged in a 6U enclosure, with all controls and switches on the front panel for easier access. Provided with test leads terminated in alligator clips and a calibration certificate; one year warranty on parts and labor.
