Anritsu MP1776A Overview

The MP1776A is an Error Detector which has the capability of housing up to 4 error detector units enabling simultaneous or independent BER testing from 100 Mb/s to 12.5 Gb/s rates. The unique design offers excellent flexibility allowing the error detector to be operated in a single channel, 2-channel or 4-channel combined mode. Operation in combined mode is very useful especially when testing 1:2 or 1:4 DEMUX units and is performed very effectively. For example, when the MP1776A is in the 4-channel combined mode, the relationship is made between each channel that treats all the 4 channels as the single rate (4 times the data rate of a channel) data input. Each channel has the capability of measuring BER at a maximum of 12.5 Gb/s data rate and simultaneous BER testing and analysis up to 4-channels is possible when used with the MP1758A or the ">MP1775A 4-channel Pulse Pattern Generators. Depending on the mode of operation, different sizes of programmable pattern for specific testing, a variety of PRBS patterns up to 231-1, Zero Substitution patterns up to 215, and Consecutive Zero patterns are supported in the MP1776A.
